Olympic Flame in Cyprus

The first day of the Flame's two-day stopover in Cyprus, the last stop of the International Torch Relay, came to a close with a major concert by Marios Tokas. The cities of Cyprus also happened to be the first stop in the heart of Hellenic culture, shortly before the Flame is set to enter Greece.

The President of the Cyprus Olympic Committee and IOC Member, Kikis Lazarides, accepted the Flame while the Olympic anthem was being played and, in turn, handed it to the crew of an old sailing ship that transported it to the Medieval castle of Paphos.

* The official welcome ceremony for the olympic flame took place at Eleftheria's Square, just few meters away from our office.
